A FIRST FROM TUBITAK

A FIRST FROM TUBITAK

IN THE RESEARCHES CARRIED OUT BY THE CRYPTOLOGY EXPERTS OF TUBITAK AND WHICH HUMAN GENOME WAS ARRANGED IN A ROW FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TURKEY, A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN 4 DISEASE AND GENES.

Nihat Ergün, the Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, stated that human genome was arranged in a row for the first time in Turkey also determined that; “the gene which is also known as Klippel-Feil syndrome and is related to a natal formation disorder in the neck spine. Besides, genetic based mechanisms related to tumors which occur as a result of uncontrolled enlargement of the veins are also elicited. Other two diseases are the genes which cause natal formation disorders in the areas of head and face”.

WE HAVE A GENBANK FROM NOW ON
TUBITAK which focuses its energy on studies of “genes”, the smallest structure unit determining the characteristic aspects of the living creatures established the most developed gene laboratory under the name of The Center of Advanced Genome and Bio-informatics. Through this center established with the support of the Ministry of Development, the laboratories to arrange the human genome in a row and a computer infrastructure to analyze those genomes. Thus, the experiences of TUBITAK researchers on decoding are also used in the analysis of genetic data. At the same time, the researches on the access, storing and processing methods of genetic data which will gradually become widespread in their use in the future.

The Samples will not be sent abroad
Ergün the Minister, who has mentioned that all the samples have been sent abroad for medical diagnoses and researches based on arranging technologies in a row has emphasized that, for that reason, genomic data banks related to Turkey have been formed in the countries where those samples are sent. From now on, this eligible and special data stopped going abroad and a significant deficiency was sorted out.
