Came to an End in The Ankara-Sivas YHT Line

As the Ministry, we have renewed the entire railway infrastructure of our country with our railway priority transportation policy since 2003.

In this process, which is close to 17 years, in addition to the renewal of the existing system, major improvements have been made in the fields of high-speed and fast railway projects, development of national and domestic advanced railway industry and liberalization of railway transportation. As Turkey became the 6th country in Europe, and the 8th country in the world with high-speed trains, high-speed and fast train projects were again the leading investments in railways during this process. Between Ankara-Eskişehir-İstanbul, Ankara-Konya and Konya-Eskişehir-İstanbul, we have provided high-speed rail service to 40% of our country’s population. In addition to 1,213 kilometers of YHT line opened to operation, we also continue to work on the Ankara-Sivas YHT line, which is one of the important axes of the railway corridor that connects Asian countries on the route of Asia Minor and Silk Road. We are bringing Sivas, where the foundation of the Republic was laid, closer to the end of this line, which will connect Sivas to the high-speed system step by step.

Between Yerköy and Sivas, we have completed the rail installation of the section which is approximately 100 kilometers. Between Yerköy and Kırıkkale, we started the rail installation works. The 404 kilometers Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line has 46 tunnel structures that are approximately 66 kilometers long. There are 53 viaducts 27,5 kilometers in length. 611 bridges and culverts and 217 underpasses and overpasses were built within the scope of this project. Our viaducts and tunnels are in progress and will be completed in the coming months. Near the end of this year, we will also start test drives on this line. As of 2020, we will open this line to the service of our citizens. Our goal, our target is certain; to serve our nation. At this point, our railways and high-speed train lines are of great importance. For this reason,  we have done what is necessary for the railways and for Turkey for 17 years, we will continue to do so.

On this occasion, I would like to celebrate the 96th anniversary of our Republic and our Republic Day the 29th of October and wish you a good trip.
