HALF A MILLION AUTOMOBILE ENTHUSIASTS RAN TO THE FAIR

THE BIG AUTOMOTIVE MEETING, ISTANBUL AUTO SHOW 2017, HOSTED AUTOMOBILE LOVERS AFTER A TWO-YEAR BREAK.

The Istanbul Auto Show 2017 that was organized in May, became the meeting place of automobile enthusiasts. In the fair, which was organized with the slogan ‘Take a closer look into the future’, 500 thousand visitors viewed up close the newest models that will soon embark on the roads. The show, which attracted approximately 500 thousand visitors, hosted technologies that will soon be offered for use as much as it hosted the newest models. Here are the most prominent innovations of the fair…

THE FIAT 124 IS NOW A CONVERTIBLE
One of the most popular ‘roadster’ models of automotive history the Fiat 124 Spider, was showcased at the show with its new generation. The Fiat 124 Spider was offered to the automotive enthusiasts with the options of manual and auto transmission along with a 1.4 liter 140 horsepower gasoline engine. The new rear-wheel drive Fiat 124 Spider aims at carrying the success of the first generation with either its eye-catching ‘roadster’ design or its powerful technical substructure.

THE NEWEST OPEL MODELS
Opel, made the introduction of its 3 new models the Insignia Grand Sport, Insignia Sports Tourer and Crossland X to Turkey at the show. The new Insignia Grand Sport started being offered at the end of May in our country with 1.5 lt 165 HP gasoline, 1.6 lt 136 HP and 2.0 lt 210 HP diesel engine options. Opel’s new model the Crossland X, which will enter the B crossover segment that is steadily growing in the majority of Europe, is the second member of the X family that came to life in 2016 with the Mokka X. The new model will arrive in Turkey in the summer months with a 1.2 lt 81 HP and 1.2 lt 110 HP gasoline engine options along with a 1.6 lt 99 HP diesel option.

AN UNUSUAL CONCEPT FROM RENAULT
Renault made the first presentation of the new Captur and Koleos to Turkey at the auto show. Thus, the brand has completed its SUV range along with the Kadjar. Also, the concept model TREZOR that is an electric GT which gives hints at Renault’s design understanding and future technologies.

THE SUPER ATHLETE FORD 
Ford displayed their super sports vehicle the Ford GT Race Car model for the first time in Turkey. The Ford GT, which is one of the most advanced high performance vehicles ever developed, has the most advanced features in the aspects of lightness, aerodynamics, and one of Ford’s biggest innovations the EcoBoost motor technologies. Ford GT’s 3.5 lt V6 EcoBoost engine, generates 550 NM torques with its power that surpasses 600 HP. The Ford GT, with its maximum speed of 347 km/h is the fastest Ford model ever to be displayed on the tracks.

A PERFORMANCE SHOW FROM HONDA
Honda was the focus of attention of the show with its new Civic Type R and NSX models presentation. The brand, which maintains its bombarding of models, presented the member of the super sports segment the NSX legend and the new version of its compact sports vehicle of the new generation the Civic Type R at the show. The sales of the NSX started in Turkey after the show. Honda also presented its Formula 1 vehicle at the performance segment of the stand to the show visitors.
