In the second leg of the “Let’s Listen to Children and Change Their Lives” project organized with the approach of “Barrier-Free Transport, Barrier-Free Tourism, Barrier-Free Life”, a special group of 20 passengers was seen off to Eskişehir station from the Ankara YHT Terminal with the participation of Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turhan, General Manager of TCDD Ali İhsan Uygun, and representatives of the organizations supporting the project.
In the first leg of the project, a group of 24 passengers was seen off to Eskişehir on October 16, 2019, with the participation of Minister Turhan and the representatives of the organizations supporting the project.
“Our projects for disabled people will never end”
Turhan, said in a statement before the farewell, they have taken all necessary measures so our disabled citizens could benefit from all transport systems in Turkey. He said they had made arrangements and investments related to them. Minister Turhan pointed out that disabled people are a part of society and said: “They’re among us. I would like to state that we should accept to live with the disabled, to benefit from them, and to be with them as a way of life. Turkey is in a good standpoint compared to other countries in this regard. Projects for disabled people will never end and will continue as life continues. We will never leave our disabled citizens alone and we will continue to hold their hands.”
Minister Turhan presented his gifts to special passengers before their trip and presented a certificate of appreciation to TCDD, Ankara University, Halkbank, and other institutions and organizations for their support.
