Via the organization under the collaboration of the European Union-Turkey transportation sector, Head of EU Delegation to Turkey Christian Berger, and the ambassadors to the EU countries and their wives went from Ankara to Kars by the Touristic Eastern Express.

Berger, who shared his feelings during the trip, expressed that the view of snow and rivers from the tourist train along the road, which has become a symbol of Turkey was very nice. H. Cvitanovic, Croatia’s Ambassador to Turkey, said: “It is not possible to forget the Ani Ruins, which I have seen before, once you see them. I love all the regions of Turkey, I think this region is special. The ski center and this region should be advertised more so that everyone can see them.”
The Dutch Ambassador to Turkey, M. Kwaasteniet, also described his trip on the Touristic Eastern Express, which he had been riding for the first time, as a “magnificent experience” and said that Divriği district of Sivas is very impressive.
Belgium’s Ambassador to Turkey M. Malherbe also thanked the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and TCDD Tasimacilik AS for the opportunity to travel by train. P. Silva, Portugal’s Ambassador to Turkey, expressed that he was impressed a lot by Turkey’s historical richness, beauty and the hospitality of the people.
Berger’s wife M. Berger, on the other hand, stated that the Touristic Eastern Express is amazing and said, “It is a very nice train, definitely worth a trip. The scenery is beautiful, everyone should make this trip once in their lifetime.”
