Not only did automobiles that were going to be released right after the fair but also special projects that carried traces from the future gathered much attention at the biggest meeting of the year in automotive at the Geneva Motor Show. Almost every brand displayed the new technologies and special designs that they plan to use in the future, giving clues to the visitors for the developments that will occur in the automotive world.
Here are the new projects that influence the automobile world…
IT CAME FLYING OUT OF A SCI-FI FILM
Volkswagen that already announced that they would focus more on electric vehicles and autonomous drive recently showed what kind of models they would develop in this area with the Sedric introduced at the Fair. The most important feature of the vehicle is that it can be directed via a smart phone or tablet. Sedric that is as spacious as a living room with four seats has only 3 buttons and a screen.
THE TIME FOR DRONES IS APPROACHING
Flying automobiles have been in the agenda of the automotive world for a long time. Even though many prototypes prepared in this field were displayed before, the concept that was displayed for the first time in Geneva gained much attention. The concept named Pop Up, which was developed by the European aircraft producer Airbus and the famous design company Italdesing, was thought of especially for urban transportation. The drone styled vehicle that works completely with electricity has 4 different propellers and a carbon fiber body. The vehicle, which is 2.6 meters long, will be used on highways when needed and be controlled through an AI. Regardless of the much attention Pop Up got, neither one of the companies has made an announcement whether the vehicle will be produced in the future or not.
MOTORCYCLES OF 2030
Toyota that continues to create solutions about urban transportation in the 2030s with its visionary identity introduced the i-TRIL concept, which has the active slope technology inspired by the ‘ski’ method, at the 2017 Geneva Automobile Fair. The vehicle that does not use any pedals is controlled completely by hand. The FE Concept consumes 10% less fuel with the advantage brought by its lightness. Additionally it has 30% more range thanks to its enhanced fuel cells. The FE Concept can travel more than 800 km on one charge.
THE FAST AND ELECTRIC ZOE

The 1,400-kilogram chassis, including its battery (450kg), of the Renault ZOE e-Sport concept automobile is made completely from carbon fiber. It takes only 3.2 seconds for the ZOE e-Sport’s speed to go from 0 to 100 km/h.
