THE NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW HOSTED THE MOST LUXURIOUS VEHICLES OF THE CAR INDUSTRY.
The largest first meeting of the automotive world this year was in America. The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) was the place where the brands of Europe and Fareast exhibited their most luxurious models this year, too. Here are some of those luxurious brands and models:
THE SMARTEST MERCEDES IS ON THE WAY
Completely renovated Mercedes E Series was among the major innovations of the Detroit Show. Mercedes E Series, which was renewed from top to bottom, is playing for the lead in its class. It is going to go on the roads in the USA for the first time. The new model that was equipped with many smart technologies also represents the last phase of the transition to autonomous automobiles. The new E is able to safely overtake the vehicle in front of it all by itself upon the driver’s command. The software that is managed by an AI software that is the closest to the human intelligence also enables E Series to receive new data and interpret it. The new model that draws attention with its safety, comfort, and autonomous features, is going to enter the Turkish market in April with its 2-liter engine model first.
THE CAR OF THE YEAR TO BE MANUFACTURED IN GEBZE
Honda Civic was among the particular models for the Turkish market at the Detroit Auto Show. The new Civic, which its production is going to begin in the second quarter of this year at Honda Şekerpınar Facility, was selected as ‘The Car of the Year’ in America. The new Honda Civic comes in 1.6-liter diesel and LPG engine options.
HYDROGEN BREAKTHROUGH FROM AUDI
Audi has shown that the brand could not ignore the future’s technology, hydrogen-car trend, any longer and the brand’s Q6 h-tron concept was introduced in Detroit. The vehicle that has a hydrogen fuel cell is going to compete with Tesla’s Model X. Q6 h-tron is going to be on the roads in 2018. Generating 429 hp, three electric engines take place in Audi’s new SUV model. The vehicle can reach to 500 km of range when it is fully charged.
IF ONLY PICK-UPs COULD GET JEALOUS
Titan, the pick-up concept of Nissan, was introduced at the show and it drew great interest with its dimensions and design; so much that, if the famous 18-wheelers of the USA could get jealous, they definitely would. The mass production of Titan that is going to compete with the large pick-ups of Ford, General Motors, and GMV is expected to begin in 2017. The sale of this vehicle seems impossible in Europe, due to its size.
SWEDISH VOLVO AGAINST THE GERMAN
The new model S90, replacing S80, was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show. With its large body, high level of equipment, and elegant features, the new S90 is going to be an impressive model just as XC90 was. Keeping the new design lines of the brand within, S90 is planning to make a remarkable place for itself in the luxurious class. The new vehicle is coming to Turkey in September 2016. S90 that replaces S80 is going to compete against BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E Series. Volvo S90 is going to be among the often seen models on the roads with its wide screen, smart technologies, and various engine options.
