Increasing international trade volume also affects the development of the railway sector, requiring major investments. The presentation of Turkey’s Master Plan for Logistics, which is very important in this sense, was held by Mr. Mehmet Cahit Turhan, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure in December.
Through this plan, all services related to the transportation of cargo will be provided from one place and managed effectively so the acceleration of competition between modes of transport will be realized in order to have Turkey reach its exports, growth, and sustainable development targets.
As the TCDD, we have put 9 Logistics Centers into service in Halkalı, Gökköy, Köseköy, Uşak, Kaklık, Hasanbey, Gelemen, Türkoğlu, and Palandöken. We have completed the Yenice and Kayacık centers and made them ready for service.
We continue with the construction works of Kars and Kemalpaşa (AYGM) Logistics Centers at full speed.
We continue to work on tender and project preparation works day and night at 12 logistics centers in Bozüyük, Boğazköprü, Karaman, Bitlis, Sivas, Mardin, Habur, Yeşilbayır, Çerkezköy, Filyos, Çandarlı, İyidere.
When we put all 25 logistics centers into service, we will provide our country with an additional carrying capacity of 72.6 million tons and a container stock and handling area of 16.2 million square meters.
With these feelings and thoughts, I wish the Logistics Master Plan to be beneficial to our country and nation and I wish success to all stakeholders of the project.
