THE LEGENDARY HARVEYS OF TURKEY

“MY HARLEY” COMPETITION THAT KEEPS THE HARLEY-DAVIDSON SPIRIT ALIVE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PROOF OF THAT THE MOTORCYCLE ENTHUSIASM IS A PASSION RATHER THAN A HOBBY FOR SOME.

The legendary world brand of motorcycle and motorcycle accessories, Harley-Davidson, found the legends of 2015 at the end of their second annual “My Harley” competition this year. During the final that took place in İstanbul in October, thirteen Harley-Davidsons competed against each other. The jury members, including designer Can Yalman, determined the winners in Street, Performance, and Touring categories. Motorcycle fans who attended the event selected the winner of the Special Viewers Award.

The thirteen finalists of the “My Harley” competition, which was applied by over 70 motorcycle owners from İstanbul, İzmir, Ankara, and Antalya, were up against each other with their Harley-Davidson models, which were personalized by means of their creativeness. The special jury, including designer Can Yalman and Regional Manager South Eastern Europe at Harley-Davidson Gaetano Di Piazza, selected the winners in Street, Performance, and Touring categories. Participating the finale and also being a member of the jury, Regional Manager South Eastern Europe at Harley-Davidson Gaetano Di Piazza says, “Harley-Davidson is materializing the personal dreams of freedom of motorcycle lovers around the world. As Harley-Davidson, we are excited to offer extraordinary experiences to the Turkish motorcycle lovers. We feel a strong attachment to Turkey to develop and deepen the Harley passion since we have been in here for a long time.” Di Piazza stated that motorcycle lovers and dealers create the foundations of Harley-Davidson’s success in Turkey. He also added that the past of the company in Turkey goes back to the first dealer opened in 1912.

Victory of freedom and individualism
Approximately 100 Harley-Davidson lovers who met at the Dolmabahçe Palace reached to DoRock XL in Kadıköy where the finals took place after following a route, including the symbols of the city such as Bosporus Bridge that connects Europe and Asia. The motorcycle lovers who gathered in here from different locations of Turkey with the uniting power of Harley-Davidson selected the most legendary Harvey-Davidson. During the party that was thrown at the end of the “My Harley” competition that over 70 motorcycle owners competed, the victory of individualism and freedom was celebrated.

Legendary motorcycles
Let’s take a look at the motorcycles that deserved to become legends which were turned into matchless pieces by their owners’ creativity: Personalized motorcycles of Utku Bayraktar of Ankara in Street category, Mert Toker of İzmir in Performance category, and Göktuğ Gür of İstanbul in Touring category were selected as the legends of 2015 at the end of evaluations made by the jury. The Special Viewers Award that was granted by the votes of participators went to İbrahim Selvi of İzmir.

Creates a difference
Harley-Davidson Bosphorus, a dealer company of Harley-Davidson, organizes different events every year for motorcycle lovers besides the “My Harley” competition. For their clients, they organize ‘Demo Truck’ activities. Demo Truck, which comes from England on Harley-Davidson demo trailer every year, is a special activity where clients can try the new motorcycles. Harley-Davidson fans have the opportunity to try new motorcycles thanks to this activity.

An extraordinary passion
Harley-Davidson owners socialize thanks to barbeque parties organized at showrooms during summer. They also collaborate with motorcycle clubs within universities. The most important goal of all these events is to spread the thought of Harley-Davidson being not only a motorcycle but also an extraordinary passion that can continue for a lifetime. Harley-Davidson Bosphorus advances with the motto of “We don’t sell motorcycles, we let in Harley-Davidson lovers.” They have been receiving “The Best Dealer of South Eastern Europe” award for the last five years in a row and this is the most important indicator of their different approach.
