ATATÜRK MEMORIAL, GERMAN-MADE WAGON, AIRCRAFT AND MANY INTERESTING WORKS ARE BEING EXHIBITED AT THE MALIKÖY MUSEUM, WHERE SEVEN THOUSAND VISITORS HAVE BEEN HOSTED SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR.
The Malıköy Station Museum, which is used as infirmary, military ammunition and logistics center, and aircraft runway in the Battle of Sakarya , is being crowded with visitors. In the first five months of 2017, seven thousand people visited the museum, which welcomed different sections of the society from primary education to university students, workers, officers and tradesmen.
The Malıköy Station on the Ankara-Eskişehir railway line in the Polatlı district of Ankara, was gained as a museum by our cultural life in 2008 with the cooperation of the General Staff, Ministry of Transport Maritime and Communications, and the TCDD. The martyrdom monument made in the name of 5 thousand 713 Mehmetçik martyrs of the Battle of Sakarya, as well as the museum settlement where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk memorial, where he was depicted in his civilian clothing, exhibits a German-made locomotive and a German-made wagon used in the Battle of Sakarya in 1897, a station building, and 2 aircrafts made faithfully.
In the museum where the War of Independence is represented by sculptures and visual materials, railroad objects used at that time are also exhibited.
